Popular Feng Shui Item to Avoid Sickness

One popular Feng Shui item used by Feng Shui Professionals to help with sickness is the Calabash. Such a simple object, it carries much power within and is able to assist the healing process in a completely natural way!

A lot of people do not understand why this object is used and are quick to utter "Superstition!

Ahh....this is because they have no knowledge of the Yi Jing!

To understand how the modern world can use an ancient item to help with healing, we need to hear Joseph Yu's wise words passed down to those he teaches. I think it is time for us to enjoy an educational jaunt back in time...

Many Moons ago, the ancient sage Fu Xi watched the images in Heaven and the laws on Earth. He examined the markings on birds and beasts, and studied the suitability of the soil.

He related his body parts that were closest at hand and various objects that were far reaching and classified them into eight categories, each being known as a Trigram. This was to display the wonder of creation and compare the characteristics of various things.

There are eight Trigrams, and each represents real and abstract things.

One of the Trigrams is Dui (pronounced Doy)and one of the many representations of Dui is that of detaching a fruit that hangs on vines. Dui is also soft metal, is round in shape and the body part associated is the mouth.

For more advanced purposes, we would enter into the passage of time and the Ba Gua, where the Earlier Heaven Dui is the Later Heaven Xun - a more complex discussion for another day perhaps...

We can see an object that represents the Dui trigram easily is the dried Calabash with an open mouth. The dried fruit has a golden yellow colour that represents metal - you see, everything connects intricately!

What is the connection of this Dui Trigram and healing you ask?

We know that the energy related to sickness and health is represented by Star #2 which is the Kun Trigram in Metaphysics.

In advanced studies we learn that changing the first and second lines of a Trigram will yield the star Ju Men or Tian Yi, which is more easily known as Heavenly Doctor: I think you can start to see the connection right...

It is this changing of the first and second lines of the Kun Trigram that gives us exactly the Dui Trigram, and this is why the Calabash is used to cure sickness star #2 - it is a simple transformation of Qi.

It is no coincidence that medical doctors in the old days in China used the Calabash as a container of medicine!

Remember the ancient sage Fu Xi classified objects according to the eight Trigrams and Feng Shui Masters in the past analyzed Qi using the transformation of the Trigrams.

Cures are also based on the relationship between the Trigrams. It is not just the five elements that many are familiar with, and we can see that the real dried Calabash is far more effective than a copper replica or porcelain decor item.

It is not a superstition, as many may have thought...

Personally, I have seen a lot of Calabashes with the open mouth in the wrong place, and that is a no-no! The Dui Trigram must be represented properly for the healing energy to work.

Would you like to see how we isolate a Trigram on a real Calabash, and where the mouth needs to be...? Thought so.
